Prestressed concrete railway bridge over Vltava river in Prague–Holešovice, built by free cantilever method – determination of a load-bearing capacity (2020)

Double-track railway bridge was built in 1969 to 1975. It has a box, cast-in-situ, post-tensioned superstructure of five spans. In each span, the structure acts as a single-span frame with inclined supports; its span length is 73,3 m at feet of supports and 66,9 m between the points, where supports are fixed into the deck. Parts of the structure placed above the dry terrain were cast on scaffolding, parts above the river were made by free cantilever method.
The calculations were elaborated during previous employment (Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague).
